Faculty Research
By building upon the various connections that individual faculty and projects have established with local congregations, denominational offices, and religious centers, the Center for Practical Theology aims to conserve and expand these important relationships so that they may be more integrally incorporated into the teaching and research of the faculty as a whole. One of the ways the Center attempts to broaden and deepen the direct involvement of faculty members in the work of contextualizing theological education and scholarship across the disciplines is a competitive grants program for faculty research projects in practical theology. This program encourages projects that apprentice students into their research and that are jointly conceived between faculty and congregational/pastoral partners, and projects that bring together faculty across the theological disciplines. The links to the right of this page will introduce you to some of those exciting and path-breaking research projects.
