About ISHS
The International Society for Humor Studies is a scholarly and professional organization dedicated to the advancement of humor research. Many of the Society's members are university and college professors in the Arts and Humanities, Biological and Social Sciences and Education. The Society also includes professionals in the fields of counseling, management, nursing, journalism and theater. All of us are interested in humor's many facets, including its role in business, entertainment and health care as well as how humor varies according to culture, age, gender, purpose and context.

Registration/Submissions
Online registration is open. Paper and Panel submissions deadline is March 15. Early-bird registration ends April 14.
Conference Events
There will be an opening reception Tuesday night (July 5), Comedy Night on Thursday (July 7) and a closing banquet Friday evening (July 9).
Travel
The Boston University campus is easily accessible via public transportation (the "T") to and from Logan International Airport and Amtrak station (South Station).
Housing
On-campus housing will be available in the new student dorms (@$65 per night — all-you-can-eat breakfast and lunch are included for $16.50 per day). Please be aware that if you plan to stay in a hotel, you will need to reserve rooms well in advance. The 4th of July weekend is a very busy time in the Boston area and hotel rooms will be difficult to find.
