Mark has a BA in International Affairs from Lafayette College and earned his PhD in German the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign while serving as a humanities computing consultant on Project Hermes. Prior to coming to BU, he has served as the Founding Director of Academic Technologies at Regis College, and Manager of eLearning and Instructional Design Services at UMass Boston. Mark has taught several courses in both foreign languages and management information systems, relying heavily on blended and online formats. His interests include adaptive learning and assessment, mobile learning, and blended-online course development. Mark has also co-directed numerous grants to build capacity in faculty development, mentoring, and course re-design using technology. When not at work, Mark’s interests include travel, cooking, cinema, and being outdoors with his family..
