WLL congratulates Luluah Mustafa, senior lecturer in Arabic program, on achieving certification to become an official rater for the Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages. Luluah is the first member of BU’s language faculty to obtain this qualification, which is administered by the American Council for Teaching Foreign Languages. This particular certification entails a rigorous practical training on how to assess “Interpersonal and Listening Speaking (ILS)” and “Presentational Writing (PW).”
As the ACTFL representative wrote: “Congratulations! You are one of a very select group of language professionals who has demonstrated the ability to rate AAPPL tests with a high degree of reliability. You are to be commended for a job well done!” Luluah previously earned full certification to conduct Oral Proficiency Interviews (OPI) using the ACTFL framework; she was the first member of our department to do so.
Luluah Mustafa is a native Arabic speaker with more than nine years of total experience teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language. She has mastered many Arabic dialects and taught the Language at all levels using latest technology and own-designed materials.
