BU Chinese Program Hosts a Vibrant Lunar New Year Celebration
The Boston University Chinese Program, in collaboration with the Global House and the Study Abroad Office, hosted a 2025 Lunar New Year celebration on Feb 3rd, drawing nearly 200 participants to an evening filled with cultural immersion and festive cheer.
The event featured a variety of interactive workshops, including a dumpling-making workshop, calligraphy, paper cutting, Peking opera face painting, traditional games, and a New Year wishes activity. A virtual tour room allowed students to explore different cities in China, while the Study Abroad Office provided insights into opportunities for studying Chinese and doing internship in Shanghai, China.
To complete the experience, attendees enjoyed a reception with delicious Chinese cuisine. The celebration not only honored the rich traditions of the Lunar New Year but also provided students of Chinese with a unique opportunity to engage with the language, connect with peers, and deepen their appreciation for Chinese culture.
