This documentary by German film maker Carl A. Fechner tells the personal stories of people who take the preservation of their natural livelihood and the work for a clean-energy future into their own hands. It portrays climate activists, engineers, entrepreneurs, farmers, city planners, visionaries and critics in Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Ukraine in their daily fight for an energy turnaround as a bottom-up, decentralized, regional process.

It is a film that counters doomsday scenarios and cynical discussions about the feasibility of the energy transition: it’s entertaining, exciting, and without moralistic preaching.

This film won the 2016 Hollywood International Independent Documentary Award.
