October’s Chinese Events
On October 7th 2022, Chinese Language Program had a lively discussion about Taiwanese pop music and music genres in students’ own cultures. Students shared their favorite songs with each other and talked about different music genres. One of the observations was that Taiwan music drew a lot of influence from American pop music, although each genre has its own characteristics. It was great that everyone got new songs in their playlist and also learned how to talk about the music they like in Chinese. If you missed the event, check out the music here! This event was organized by Coordinator of Chinese Language Program Shutan Dong and FLTA Yuan-Jung Chan. This is the first event in the cross-cultural conversation series this semester. We look forward to seeing you in the upcoming discussions!
On October 21st, 2022, Chinese Language Program organized an outdoor culture event. Students played Chinese traditional shuttlecock (Jiànzi) and corn hole (Shābāo) at BU beach. We also talked about different ways to play both games. Students improvised cool tricks that attracted people passing by. Everyone had fun and enjoyed a fun workout. This event was organized by Coordinator of Chinese Language Program Shutan Dong and FLTA Yuan-Jung Chan. Thank you all for joining and we look forward to seeing you in future events!
