Professor Abigail Gillman Named “Cooperation Partner” for German Grant Offered at University of Frankfurt
Abigail Gillman has been named a “cooperation partner” on a German grant awarded to a professor at the University of Frankfurt to digitize the correspondence of the German Jewish intellectual Martin Buber (1878-1965).
Buber was one of the most influential figures in religion, social thought, education, theology, and the arts, of the twentieth century. He was active in political and cultural scene in Israel, and in Jewish-Christian dialogue both before and after World War II.
This is 24 year grant, totaling over 9 million Euros.
Professor Gillman will be the Chair of the international advisory board.
She hopes that there will be opportunities for students and colleagues to be involved through fellowships, conferences, etc.
