2020 Virtual Celebration of our Graduates
WLL faculty, staff, and students gathered on Zoom with families and friends to celebrate our hard working class of 2020. The virtual event kicked off with a welcome address from Professor Keith Vincent (available here), WLL Department Chair, followed by a student address from Nadine Chen, who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Comparative Literature and Japanese Language & Literature (available here).
Members of the WLL faculty celebrated each student by taking a few moments to speak about each graduate and the impact they have left on the Department of World Languages & Literatures.
A program for the virtual event had been shared with friends and families prior to the Zoom meeting, proudly displaying all WLL graduates and prize winners. The program is available for viewing here.
Leanne Quinn, a Chinese Language & Literature major graduating Magna Cum Laude, closed out her time with WLL by saying “I came in [to BU] as just an International Relations major and took a couple of Chinese class my freshman and sophomore year. I loved them so much that I decided to have my second major be Chinese, and I think it was the best decision that had I made through all of college. So, thank you to my wonderful professors and friends that I’ve made along the way!”
Congratulations to the class of 2020!
