Diwali Festival, November 4, 2016
WLL Students and Faculty enjoy an evening celebrating Diwali together on November 4, 2016
The Hindi-Urdu Program, with support from WLL and the Center for Study of Asia, hosted a Diwali event on November 4 at the Pardee School for Global Studies. Diwali, also known as the festival of lights, is one of the biggest festivals in India. The program’s student group, BU Desis, led the organization of the event. The event began with a lamp lighting ceremony by Profs Sunil Sharma, Catherine Yeh, and Shilpa Parnami, which was followed by cultural performances from BU Bhangra and BU acappella group, Suno. More than 50 BU students attended the event.
