Donald D. Durrell Literacy Collaborative
The Donald D. Durrell Literacy Collaborative at Boston University serves students in grades 1–12 who experience difficulty with reading and writing in school. Literacy tutors are experienced educators who hold or are working toward graduate degrees in literacy.
As they learn about their students as readers and writers, tutors develop an individualized tutoring plan and implement instruction based on six key domains of literacy: decoding/word study; fluency; vocabulary; comprehension; writing; and motivation/engagement. The Literacy Collaborative typically offers one-on-one tutoring sessions that meet after school at local partner schools during the academic year.
