
Stefany Breton
Part-Time Instructor
Dr. Stefany Breton is a passionate advocate, educator, and researcher dedicated to transforming educational systems to better serve historically resilient communities. As the director of advocacy engagement at TNTP, she leads initiatives to strengthen and sustain a high-quality educator workforce. Throughout her career, as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and former policy leader at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Dr. Breton has championed policies that uplift and sustain educators across more than 400 schools. She is also a part-time instructor in educational leadership & policy studies at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development.
In addition to her leadership work, Dr. Breton is deeply committed to supporting Black women in education and leadership. Her research centers on the RISE framework, a model she developed to reimagine how institutions can foster the resilience, innovation, support, and empowerment of Black women navigating educational spaces. She extends her commitment to the next generation as an adjunct professor where she teaches courses on education policy, leadership, and equity.
Dr. Breton holds a BA from Spelman College, an MEd from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and an EdD from Northeastern University. Grounded in a belief in the power of community, storytelling, and systemic change, she brings both heart and strategy to every space she enters.
