Overview
The Institute for Equity in Child Opportunity & Healthy Development at Boston University School of Social Work is seeking a research assistant to support analyses of public policies that support immigrant families. The main study is exploring strategies to advance state-level tax credits that are inclusive of children in immigrant families, and it will involve literature reviews, data estimates, and policy simulations.
Key responsibilities include:
– Contributing to literature reviews on policy history and implementation
– Compiling data on policy design, benefits, and effects
– Researching state policy campaigns and coalitions
– Contributing to fact sheets and reports
Qualifications
– Interest in public policy design and analysis
– Interest in child wellbeing, immigrant families, and/or child and family policy
– Excellent analytical and organizational skills
– Strong writing skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Experience with data visualizations a plus
Requirements
– Commitment of 8-10 hours per week for the spring semester
– Attend weekly check-in meetings with faculty mentor or research team
– Ability to synthesize complex information and meet deadlines
