Our translational research lab seeks to identify better diagnostic tests and treatments for kidney diseases. We have openings for undergraduates or graduate students interested in clinical research, biostatistics, epidemiology, and translational research. Disease areas include Mesoamerican Nephropathy (a mysterious epidemic of kidney failure in agricultural workers in Central America), diabetic kidney disease, hypertension-associated kidney disease, and proteinuric kidney diseases. Our research methodologies include large database analyses, clinical trials, and omics approaches on human biospecimens.
