Are you passionate about social media, digital creators, and the ever-evolving world of online content? Do you have a knack for coding and a curiosity for uncovering insights from video data? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our cutting-edge research project!

About the project:
In the competitive digital creator landscape, follower growth is essential for creators’ monetization opportunities, such as securing brand deals and sponsorships. Collaborating with other creators has emerged as a popular strategy to expand reach, engage new audiences, and spark fresh ideas. But what makes these collaborations truly successful? Why do some partnerships thrive while others fall flat? What kind of content should be co-created? Our project dives deep into the dynamics of digital creator collaborations, leveraging a rich dataset of videos to explore the factors that drive their effectiveness. This is your chance to be part of a pioneering study that sheds light on the untapped potential of creator partnerships!

Your role as a research assistant:
• Work closely with a dynamic research team at Questrom School of Business.
• Collect, and organize data from social media platforms and other relevant sources to build a comprehensive dataset.
• Apply your coding skills and knowledge of machine learning to extract meaningful insights from large datasets.
• Contribute to the development of innovative methodologies to capture video content.
• Gain hands-on experience in social media research and data-driven storytelling.

What we’re looking for:
• A student majored in Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
• Prior experience or coursework in web-scraping, data analysis, machine learning.
• Proficiency in coding (Python, R or similar languages) and a willingness to tackle complex datasets.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A curious mind, attention to details, and a passion for solving real-world problems.
• Knowledge with deep learning and PyTorch is a plus.
