Overview
I’m Dr. April Yue, an assistant professor in the Department of Mass Communication, Public Relations, and Advertising. My research focuses on public relations, corporate communication, organizational leadership communication, and the impacts of AI and emerging technologies.
I’m looking for 1–2 highly motivated undergraduate students to assist with several research projects in Spring 2026. Students from any major are welcome, as long as they have a basic understanding of the social science research process.
Preference will be given to students who:
1. Have taken at least one research or methods course in their field.
2. Are familiar with (or have experience conducting) at least one research methodology—such as online surveys or content analysis.
3. Are responsible, meet deadlines, and communicate well.
Project Description
The specific project you work on may vary based on my needs and your skill set, but it will likely involve one or more of the following:
1. Content analysis of CEO communication on LinkedIn, including message strategies and audience engagement.
2. Content analysis of scholarly research on corporate social advocacy and CEO activism.
3. Survey research on the current state of the PR industry, including helping design the survey and conducting basic data analysis.
