Overview

The Wei Lab in the Department of Medicine, Section of Nephrology (Evans Biomedical Research Center, 650 Albany St., Floor 5) is seeking motivated undergraduate students interested in long-term, intensive, hands-on research experience in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The lab focuses on understanding cardiovascular diseases via rodent models, including hypertension, pre-eclampsia, and cardiorenal syndrome. Following initial training, students who demonstrate strong performance will have the opportunity to lead an individual research project and contribute to meeting abstracts and publications.

The Wei Lab has a strong record of undergraduate research success. Recently, one student was accepted into the prestigious BU MD/PhD program, and three students received New Investigator Travel Awards and will present their research at the American Heart Association Hypertension Conference 2026.

Interested applicants should contact Vivikta Rao (join.weilab.bumc@gmail.com) for more information. Selected candidates will be invited for an interview.
