As you’re considering what devices to purchase for your on-campus residence, please note that not all wireless-capable devices support BU’s wireless or wired networks.
The device is not supported and will not work on campus if it:
- Does not support enterprise authentication with both a username and password
- Does not have an ethernet port
Examples of unsupported devices include, but are not limited to:
- Amazon Echo (including Echo Dot)
- Amazon Fire TV Stick
- Apple Watch (when disconnected from the iPhone)
- Wireless printers
- Roku Streaming Stick
- Google Home
- Chromecast
- Vizio Smart TVs
- Smart Plugs
- Smart Lights/Philips Hue
- Home automation tools/appliances
