Policies and Degree Programs Approved by the Boston University Council

From Dr. Jean Morrison, University Provost and Chief Academic Officer

As part of an ongoing effort to keep you up-to-date on newly approved or revised policies and programs affecting the BU community at large, my office will provide a summary at the beginning of each semester of the academic, faculty, and administrative policies enacted by the Boston University Council and authorized by the President over the course of the previous semester. We will also include a listing of any new degree programs that have been approved.

As a reminder, the Boston University Council (UC) is a body of elected faculty representatives and academic administrators that considers and recommends action on academic matters including degree requirements, the creation and discontinuation of academic programs, and the development of policies that impact either faculty or students. The work of the UC is accomplished through standing committees that draw on the expertise of faculty and administrators throughout the University. Details about the constitution, membership and responsibility of the UC can be found in the Faculty Handbook: https://www.bu.edu/handbook/governance/the-constitution-of-the-boston-university-council/
