AI Policies
Boston University and BU Law support the thoughtful and responsible use of generative AI as an academic, research, and professional tool. At BU Law, individual instructors determine whether and how AI may be used in their courses and assignments, and students are responsible for understanding and following those requirements. All members of the BU Law community remain responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their work, for appropriately acknowledging substantive use of AI, and for protecting confidential, private, or sensitive information. University guidance also emphasizes verifying AI-generated information, avoiding overreliance on AI, and using AI in ways that support rather than replace independent learning, critical thinking, research, and writing.
