In an effort to celebrate all that is good and wonderful about summer in Boston, we want to extend an invitation for you to join us at a baseball game at Fenway Park, one of Boston’s most iconic landmarks, to watch the Boston Red Sox battle the Miami Marlins for glory and honor on the field! Tickets are limited, so please RSVP at your earliest convenience. GWISE will cover your ticket to the game and a concessions voucher. Play ball!
GWISE Career Strategy Workshop with Sarah Cardozo Duncan
Date and Time: Thursday, June 18 from 1:00pm-5:00pm
Location: 24 Cummington Mall (LSEB), Room 103
Career Strategist Sarah Cardozo Duncan will lead participants through a series of exercises and discussions to explore many facets of career development including marketing, interviewing, communication styles, and networking. Attendees will learn how to communicate their career story and understand how to develop a marketing plan. Additionally, participants will learn how to develop networks and how to succeed at informational interviewing and formal interviewing for a position.
Utilizing the techniques of active discussion, role playing, and practice sessions, participants will gain a set of personally-tailored tools to ensure success. These tools are immediately useful in the career development process and will remain useful throughout your career.

GWISE MED Campus Summer Workout Group: “No Excuse Tuesdays”
Date and Time: Tuesdays in June-July from 5:10pm-5:50pm

“It’s too hot outside, I’m too tired after work, the gym is too far away, I’m busy…” I’m sure these are all familiar excuses to you permitting you to skip your workout some days. Well, now you can workout at school, no excuses! Yvette Joon Ying Boon, a PhD student in the Pharmacology Department, and a FitRec instructor, will lead us in a 30-40 min session which includes strength and conditioning, cardio, plyometrics, etc. It will start with a 5 min warm-up, 30 min workout, and 5 min warm down/stretch. The workout can be adapted for the beginner, advanced, and anyone in between. You can come after work and still leave at not too late! It’s a great chance to see friends and meet new people. Please join us to stay healthy for the summer!

GWISE Summer Book Club: “Dune” by Frank Herbert
