About Valerie Giglio-Samson

Valerie Giglio is an adjunct lecturer in the Media Science program at Boston University’s College of Communication. She is an attorney, author, and musician who began teaching in higher education more than 20 years ago as a lecturer at Nichols College and Endicott College before joining BU in 2024.

She is the founder of Giglio and Samson, Attorneys at Law and has represented clientele in business, criminal, and immigration matters, as well as creative professionals in copyright, contract, and licensing issues.

She is the author of “Singing in My Own Key: A Vocalist’s Triumph Over Stroke” (Forza Press, 2016).

She is a vocalist and electronic music producer, and operates an independent record label and music publishing company. She has performed throughout the Boston area and beyond, including New York, LA and in Europe and has been nominated for a Hollywood Independent Music Award.

Valerie is a stroke survivor, disability advocate and a volunteer for the American Heart Association. Her story has been featured in local, national and international media.
