About Shawn Zupp
Shawn spent 25 years as an advertising executive at top agencies in New York such as BBDO, Ogilvy, Publicis and R/GA. He worked on a number of high profile brands including Pepsi-Cola, Frito-Lay, Hershey, Target, National Football League, Corona, Bud Light, E*Trade, HBO, Samsung and Johnson & Johnson. Throughout his career in account management, he has partnered with clients in the development of television commercials, brand experiences, digital/social media campaigns, global websites, and mobile, AI-driven platforms. Notable projects include USA Today’s #1 ranked Super Bowl Spot for Pepsi in 1998, launch of the Hershey Times Square New York City store experience and the innovative brand campaign for new e-commerce start up Jet.com, which ultimately was bought by Walmart for 3 billion dollars. He has led well-recognized advertising efforts such as the Cannes Grand Prix award winning HBO Voyeur experience, Effie award winning Pepsi campaigns, and the Emmy-awarded “Love Has No Labels” film for the Ad Council.
I bring real world perspective and experience in advertising to students stemming from 25 years in the center of the advertising world . . . New York. My history and my continued interest remains in advertising management leadership in an era of change. I’ve run agency internship programs at Ogilvy, helped train young executives at the 4A’s, and mentored agency employees at R/GA. I’ve long supported Boston University ad students, hosting them at New York agency tours for two decades and hiring them as interns and staff members. I remain actively engaged with ad agency pros across the industry.
