What is your background and why did you choose Media Ventures to supplement your future endeavors?

I graduated from Boston University in 2016 with a degree in Public Relations. My background has been mainly in public relations and marketing, however I have always had an interest in business and media. Media Ventures was the perfect fit for my career path due its combination of innovation, business and media.

In a few words, describe your thesis project and what’s been the most challenging/fun aspect so far.

My thesis project is an interactive travel app for college students studying abroad. It aims to bring students together, while making their travel experience efficient and easy. There have been many challenging moments, but the positives outweigh any difficulties I have faced. I have immensely enjoyed discussing travel with BU students and finding solutions to their travel problems. I love the innovation process and discovering new ways to use media. I feel so lucky to have found a program that allows me to embrace media in a new ways and encourages me to innovate.

What are your hobbies and/or what do you do for fun?

I LOVE to travel. It is probably my favorite thing in the world. I have been fortunate enough to travel around the world with my family and friends! I also love photography and try to bring my camera with me whenever possible, especially when I travel. I am very athletic as well. I ran my first half marathon in December and I hope to one day run a full marathon!

What is your advice for future applicants?

Positivity and hard work will break through any barrier you may face. Positivity is contagious and inspiring to those around you. The more you stay positive and embrace life’s struggles, the more you will be able to accomplish. It’s ok to not always do things right and mess up sometimes. The most important thing is to be happy. Life and college are both really too short to not live to the fullest and enjoy the little things everyday. So work your hardest and stay true to yourself because it has the potential to make any dream come true.
