About Liz Gumbinner
Liz Gumbinner is an award-winning creative director and copywriter, content creator, columnist, and a pioneer in blogging, podcasting and social media.
With three decades of experience in agencies including Deutsch NY & LA and David & Goliath, Liz has helped launch start-ups and reinvent prominent brands. She introduced the world to Bioré pore strips and Old Navy cargo pants (though she swore it was a fleeting trend), rebranded Mitsubishi Motors with “Wake Up and Drive,” and has developed global campaigns for Ray-Ban, Cetaphil, and Unilever’s Degree/Rexona brand.
Her work has been recognized by The One Show, CA, ADC, ANDY, Effie, Hatch, and more, but she is most proud of winning the first GLAAD Media Award given for advertising and being honored with an Ad Women of NY Game-Changers Award.
Liz is also a trailblazer in digital content, having co-founded one of the first influential parenting lifestyle sites, growing a social following to more than 900,000, and co-hosting the long-running Spawned podcast, which has topped a million downloads. Along the way, she helped shape the ways in which brands and creators work together responsibly.
Her unique expertise in multiple arenas has made her a frequent guest on shows including NBC’s Today Show (where she taught America to tweet on live TV), CNN, and Martha Stewart. She has been cited in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and The Washington Post.
Liz also writes as a columnist and cultural commentator, and contributes to PRINT Magazine’s “Creative Voices.”
Passionate about social good and work that reflects integrity, inclusivity, and purpose, Liz is thrilled to return to her alma mater to mentor the next generation of creative problem-solvers and changemakers.
