Merida, Bardasano COM 2023 Convocation Speakers

Los Angeles Times Executive Editor Kevin Merida and TelevisaUnivision Producer Carlos Bardasano will serve as speakers at the Boston University College of Communication convocation ceremonies for 2023 graduates this May.
Merida (COM ‘79) will speak at the undergraduate ceremony on Friday, May 19 at 9 a.m. at Agganis Arena, and Bardasano (Questrom ‘94, COM ‘97) will be the graduate ceremony speaker the same day at 3 p.m. at Walter Brown Arena.
Before leading the Times, Merida previously worked in top editing positions at ESPN and the Washington Post. While studying journalism in COM in the 1970s, he was also a leader for a student paper, BLACKFOLK.
Bardasano produces one of the leading shows on TelevisaUnivision’s streaming service VIX+, Travesuras de la Niña Mala. He is also the president and head of content at W Studios, a producing division of TelevisaUnivision, one of the largest Spanish-language content companies. He studied business entertainment at BU for his undergraduate degree and film and television management in COM for his graduate degree.
