COMlife is a new reality web series produced by the College of Communication’s Follow Suit Productions. It covers the happenings of two COM freshmen as they explore and discover the academic and social landscapes of college.
The College of Communication’s reality web series COMlife is nominated won third place for the Best of Clicker 2010, Best Web Non-Fiction.
“We’re very excited to be recognized in this way,” says College of Communication Assistant Dean Micha Sabovik. “COMlife, as a student-produced web series, is a great vehicle to showcase their talents. Since it’s gone viral, the College of Communication has also benefited from the program as a multi-media marketing tool.”
The series follows two students, Jason Kashdan (’14) and Kate Scott (’14), through their daily lives as college freshmen and is developed with footage produced entirely by Jason and Kate, and their friends and classmates. “The nomination is an awesome acknowledgement of everything we put into creating it. It is also a great way to honor Mark Denega, our director and editor and a graduate student at COM, for the incredible job he’s done in producing the show,” says Kate.
Clicker, an internet television guide, gives out awards to the most popular shows on the Web in categories ranging from Best TV Show Comedy to TV Show with the Most Annoying Fans. In the Best Web Non-Fiction category, COMlife was nominated alongside TIME Magazine’s 10 Questions interview series and The Guardian’s In the Director’s Chair series.
The Fall finale of COMlife, A Very Merry First Semester, aired on December 17, 2010 on the undergraduate YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/bucomugrad.
