Ya-Ching Huang is a Ph.D. student in the Sociology Department. Her research interests include economic sociology, cultural sociology, morality, medical sociology, and global health. She is particularly interested in economic activities that are morally laden and contested. Her current research examines the production and distribution of homemade cloth masks, changing meanings of masks, and discourses on mask use amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In Spring 2022, Huang received travel funding to present at the Society for Advancement Socio-Economic (SASE) provided by CISS.
