Visiting Scholar, University of Cologne

Lisa Jessee is a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at the University of Cologne. Using primarily panel survey data and longitudinal analysis methods, her research focuses on the consequences of parent-adult child relationships and union dissolution, with a particular focus on the (mental) health and financial well-being of older adults. She is currently working on her dissertation, “Parent-Adult Child Relationships and Older Adults’ Health and Well-Being in the United States and Europe. Lisa Jessee holds a B.A. in Gerontology (University of Vechta) and an M.A. in Aging Populations (TU Dortmund). As a visiting scholar at CISS, Lisa Jessee will work most closely with Dr. Deborah Carr, Professor of Sociology and Director of CISS. Their joint work will focus on gray divorce, parent-child relationships, and the mental health of older adults in Europe.
