Lior Hamovitz is a Ph.D. in the field of Climate Justice in the Department of Political Science.  Her research centers on understanding environmental injustices through a socio-geographic regionalist perspective she is developing. She specializes in political theory, with an emphasis on the evolving sphere of literature on intersectional environmentalism. Her research objective centers around the compounding effects of geography, history and identity in people’s lived experience of climate injustices, as well as these elements’ interaction with global climate regimes. In Spring 2024, Lior received a CISS Summer mini-grant to undertake an intensive Quechua course in Cusco, Peru, as well as preliminary data collection for her doctoral research. Learn more in our featured article.
