CAS HI/XL 332: Digital Humanities and Social Sciences
Spring 2026, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30- 10:45 AM, Multimedia Classroom CAS 306
How do digital tools help us explore the past, understand people, and tell compelling stories? This course invites students to discover innovative ways to analyze evidence through mapping, databases, text analysis, social network analysis, and more. In this hands-on course, you will strengthen your digital literacy, build your own website, and develop data visualizations based on texts, networks, maps, and more. You will also evaluate a wide range of digital projects and reflect on the ethical dimensions of digital research. By the end of the semester, you will have an online portfolio showcasing your new technical and analytical skills and an appreciation for how digital methods can advance humanities and social sciences research, and serve your future professional career, whatever it will be.
