Do You Have a Favorite Data Resource? Please Share with CISS
February 9-13, 2026 is “Love Data Week.” Love Data Week is an international celebration of data, taking place every year during the week of Valentine’s Day. Universities and research organizations are encouraged to host and participate in data-related events and activities. Learn more here from ICPSR.
CISS will be compiling information on the ‘favorite data sets’ of BU social scientists. We will feature these brief profiles on our website, and will also compile a listing of faculty users of particular data sets. This resource may help to foster collaborations, and to introduce seasoned data users with novices hoping to learn a particular data set. Please consider completing this very brief survey by February 9, 2026. Completing the survey should take no more than 5 minutes. And, if you are not a user of large data sets, please feel free to forward this message to colleagues or students who are.
Our survey is motivated by this year’s LDW theme of “Where’s the Data?” – as a way to get people thinking about data’s journey from collection through storage and preservation. Our goal is to connect everyone – from data newcomers to veterans – with the training and resources they need to make progress on issues close to their hearts.
