CISS Offers Small and Group Work Spaces to Affiliates

Are you looking for a quiet place to work alone or a lively spot for group work? CISS may be able to help!

Center affiliates (faculty, staff, postdoctoral associates, and graduate students) may reserve a desk in a quiet semi-private office at the Center, located in the middle of campus at 704 Commonwealth Avenue, 5th Floor. Desks are located in shared offices and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, pending availability. Desks can be booked for up to 4 hours a day (additional daily hours would be on a case-by-case basis) and up to two months in advance. To book a desk, visit our Calendly link.

Additionally, the Center has a mid-sized audio-visual equipped conference room, also located centrally at 704 Commonwealth Avenue, 5th Floor. The room offers a conference table that seats 8-10 people comfortably. The full space can accommodate as many as 30 guests in total. We view our conference room as a central meeting and event space for the social sciences. If you are interested in hosting a speaker, interdisciplinary research meeting, writing group, or other educational event, please complete the linked application form.

Questions regarding CISS space or booking can be forwarded to Shannon Landis at ciss@bu.edu.

To become a faculty affiliate, please apply via our form. Any graduate student who is a current or former recipient of Center funding,  such as a competitive summer grant or a participant in the PhD Summer Internships in Social Sciences Program is eligible for graduate affiliate status.
