Looking For A Writing Group? A Community for Workshopping Ideas? CISS Can Assist
Are you a faculty member, postdoc, or graduate student looking for a community with whom you can workshop your research ideas? Are you looking for a writing group to inspire and support you in the lonely writing process? Would you like to form a reading group, to discuss cutting-edge or controversial publications? CISS has both emerging and established groups to foster research, writing, and discussion.
CISS invites you to a Writing Group Planning Session on Tuesday, September 26 from noon to 1:30 in our 5th floor conference room. CISS affiliate Wade Campbell (CAS/Anthropology & Archaeology) and director Deborah Carr (CAS/Sociology) will host a conversation in which scholars share their ideas for the types of writing or reading groups they would like to participate in. CISS administrator Shannon Landis will then assist in coordinating those sessions, and reserving Center space for future writing group sessions. Bring your lunch and share your ideas!
CISS also assists in hosting and publicizing the events of established research groups, focused on topics including Health, Migration, Ethnography, Quantitative Research Methods and more. Please reach out to Center director Deborah Carr (carrds@bu.edu) if you would like to start and coordinate a new topical research group.
