CISS Launches “Lunch and Learn” Sessions with Grant Administrator Chris Chiofolo
Applying for external grants to support research is an essential part of successful academic careers. Yet applying for grants is a complex process, and researchers need guidance on everything from budgets to travel rules. CISS grant administrator Chris Chiofolo is deeply knowledgeable about grants management and guiding researchers through the complexities of proposals. He provides answers to investigator questions at his “Ask Chris….” column. Chris also hosts virtual office hours on Wednesdays from 11:00 am – 11:30 am for graduate students and Fridays from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon for faculty. Tuesday October 17, Noon to 1:30 pm. PSF. What Is it and How Do I Complete It? The Proposal Summary Form is a master cover sheet used at BU to record the Institutional engagement of a Sponsored Project. Chris will provide investigators an overview of the form line items as well as best practices and common pitfall areas.
Tuesday November 28. Noon to 1:30 pm. Fly America Act. Traveling on a grant can bring questions and challenges. Join us for an overview of the Fly America Act and learn about the Open Skies Agreement and how Brexit may have affected your grant travel. Chris will answer your questions about the travel rules grantees must adapt to.
