NASEM Shares Recordings from Workshop on Structural Racism and Rigorous Models of Social Inequity
On May 16-17, the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine held a workshop in which eminent scholars including Eduardo Bonilla-Silva and David Takeuchi discussed the deep historical roots and far-ranging consequences of systemic racism. The purpose of this workshop was to identify and discuss the sources and mechanisms through which structural racism operates. Invited experts provided insights into known sources of structural racism and models of health equity, but also extended the discussion to encompass novel sources and approaches. The workshop agenda is available here, and full set of presentation materials and recordings here.
