Danbi Jo Choy, an accomplished clarinetist from South Korea, is actively contributing to the music scene in Massachusetts. Not only is she a sought-after performer, having showcased her talent as a concerto soloist with various orchestras, but she is also deeply involved in the local orchestral community. As a freelancer, she has held the position of principal clarinet in orchestras like the Apollo Ensemble of Boston and the Du Bois Orchestra while holding a position on the Eb clarinet with the New England Philharmonic. Beyond orchestral settings, Dr. Choy is a versatile chamber musician, co-founding Trio Mirabile, serving as the artistic director of Artique in Boston, and being a member of the Weston Wind Quintet. In addition to her performance career, she is a dedicated educator, sharing her expertise with students at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, where she works with the Young Artist Orchestra, Young Artist Wind Ensemble, and the Clarinet Workshop. Her commitment to music education extends to the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, where she passes on her love for music to the next generation.
