Darlyn Robert
Darlyn Robert is a Cuban designer and visual artist based in Miami, currently pursuing graduate studies in Arts Administration at BU MET. She spent over five years in Cuba working at the crossroads of design management and community-building in the arts, where she developed visual strategies, organized events, and fostered connections among people passionate about design and visual arts. After emigrating, her focus shifted to highlighting and supporting migrant artistic communities within the U.S. cultural scene. Through her master’s program, she aims to deepen her understanding of the American and international arts landscape—its systems, markets, and institutions—so she can help emerging artists and migrant creators build their presence, claim space, and make their work stand out across borders.
I’m in my first MSAA semester, and I’m learning a lot about the U.S. nonprofit and cultural ecosystem. The program feels genuinely supportive, especially for students coming from international academic backgrounds. The professors are approachable, practical, and invested in helping us shape our own path. The mix of students from different cultural backgrounds enriches the experience and exposes us to a broader understanding and approach to arts administration.
