Alexis Grabowski (’17)

Originally from Binghamton, NY, Alexis Grabowski attended the NYSCC School of Art & Design at Alfred University, graduating with her BFA in 2008. During her undergraduate study, she completed administrative internships at the Wellsville Creative Art Center in Wellsville, NY, the Contemporary Artists Center in North Adams, MA, and Salem Art Works in Salem, NY. She also completed the Berkshire Hills Internship Program, an intensive arts administration training program in Western, MA. Grabowski chaired Alfred University’s SAB Music Committee and managed The School of Art & Design’s Moka Joka Coffee Shop, a nonprofit cafe, exhibition and event space.

Post-graduation, Grabowski sought leadership roles at nonprofit event and exhibitions spaces, and live/work programs for artists. In her most recent position, as the Artist-in-Residence Program Manager at Byrdcliffe, Grabowski provided hands-on leadership to a competitive program annually hosting 100+ individuals with live/work residencies in Woodstock, NY. Grabowski has also been the Co-Associate Director at Salem Art Works, a nonprofit sculpture park and art center in Salem, NY, and Program and Development Manager at The Contemporary Artists Center, Woodside, in Troy, NY.

Grabowski moved to Harpswell, ME, in 2014, where she is working as a freelance studio assistant and grants associate while pursuing her Masters in Arts Administration from Boston University.
