Jiayi Wang graduated from the Arts Administration Program at Boston University in January 2019. Jiayi graduated from Communication University of China in 2017, majoring in Cinematography and Production and minoring in Cultural Industry Management.

During their undergraduate experience, Jiayi found the Infinite Studio, an organization aiming at taking commercial advertisement and portraits. Jiayi also interned at the National Art Museum of China, Contemporary Russian Oil Painting Gallery, and Zhengtai Porcelain Agency from 2014 to 2016. Through these internship experiences she was put in charge of developing marketing strategies and assisting in solo exhibitions of world-famous artists.

Such practical experiences have made Jiayi realize a passion for arts administration and has contributed to a decision to continue her studies in graduate school. Jiayi wants to bring Chinese art to the global stage, and eventually blend the Chinese traditional culture and wisdom with aspects of management and operation to help boost the Chinese art industry.

I believe Boston University’s Arts Administration Graduate Program will prepare and guide me in my future professional pursuit of working at an arts organization. It provides me with the opportunity to explore and think deeply about what I really want to do. I find that I am greatly inspired by many courses, such as Financial Management for Non-profit Organization and Legal Issues in Arts Administration, which impart a great deal of practical knowledge on me. I have really enjoyed this program thus far.
