Jiannan Liu graduated from the Arts Administration program at Boston University in January 2019. She graduated with a B.A. degree in Mass Communication, with a concentration in Radio TV and Film, and a minor in Art from East Tennessee State University. During her studies in the U.S., she volunteered at a school welcome concert and worked for the school TV and radio station during her junior and senior years. Jiannan also helped a class of 9th grade students to organize and sell-tickets for a play production titled, Jianghe, and do short documentaries in China. Jiannan loves making videos and sees her video work as a way to summarize her life and create new moods. She believes things will always change, but videos can help us stay current and keep up with the moment.

Art has given me many interesting perspectives to pull from, especially in the genres of music and drama. I have loved rock music and drama since I was in the 7th grade. I became interested in this program because I wanted to make art accessible to more people. I hope to create valuable experiences with art and help people understand and deal with the pressures we all struggle with. There are so many countries that lack an integrated art system or  struggle to maintain one. As a future arts administrator, I hope I can deliver art to people and give people hope and strength.
