Gwendolyn Gavin, a designer/maker, weaver, and lover of all things fiber, is currently enrolled in the Arts Administration program. She works as the Rental Coordinator at Fuller Craft Museum, where she manages the private events that take place in the museum’s spaces.

Early in her career, she spent several years on the technical side of apparel and sewn product manufacturing before pursuing a degree in the U.K. After completing her B.A. in Textile Crafts, she returned to the U.S. and resumed her career in manufacturing, where she gained additional experience in technical design, production control and product management.

A love of craft and an interest in the museum world urged Gwendolyn to inquire about opportunities at Fuller Craft Museum. A per diem position at the museum eventually led to the role of Rental Coordinator which has given her exposure to a variety of inspiring events, lectures, and opportunities. In addition to working at the museum, Gwendolyn weaves, spins, felts, knits, and crafts any number of unique gifts and products. She also teaches various craft workshops through different organizations.

I was drawn to the Arts Administration program because I wanted to be in a program that was both practical and inspiring. I believe this program will be a great asset to my current position. I also think it will provide me with the tools I need to make the most of my design skills, to dialogue with other makers, and, most importantly, to inspire creativity in others.”
