Fei (Faye) Gao is currently a first-year graduate student in the Arts Administration degree program at Boston University. She graduated in 2012 from the international culture communications program at the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts in Beijing. After graduation, she worked as a culture communicator and Chinese teacher for the Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera at Binghamton University in New York.

Faye has a great passion for the performing arts. Her musical foundation comes from the seven years she dedicated to learning violin. During her schooling, she developed a fondness for Chinese traditional opera and drama, and particularly admires the traditional Sing Peking Opera. Her dream is to promote arts communication between China and America, and to share her love for performance art with as many people possible.

“The Arts Administration program at Boston University fits my concept of graduate study. It not only shows me the big picture of the art world, helping me to understand what has happened and is happening in the field, but also gives me numerous chances to choose my preferences and study systematically. Moreover, the abundant resources given extend my view and provide handy opportunities to integrate knowledge into practice.”
