Emily Laird is a gradate of the Arts Administration Master’s program and Fundraising Management Certification at Boston University. She graduated from Lesley University in 2015 with a B.A. in Art History, and since then has been working as the Development Assistant at The Umbrella Community Arts Center in Concord, Massachusetts.

Prior to The Umbrella, Emily’s work experience had been primarily in branding, social media management, and licensing and merchandising. In Southern California, she served as the Director of New Media at Organically Grown, an organic lifestyle company, for three years. She was also an assistant in the licensing department at Playmates Toys. After moving back to New England to finish her undergraduate degree, Emily and her rescue dog Henry settled in the Boston area. A native of western Massachusetts, Emily has prior arts administration experience as a development intern at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst.

I am excited to be enrolled in the Arts Administration program. While learning valuable skills for what I hope to be a future in Development, at the same time I am learning from the life experiences of my professors and classmates.
