Amanda Harrington (’21)

Being an advocate for the arts her entire life, Amanda started her arts administration career as a student at Plymouth State University. During the 2014-2015 academic year, Amanda was awarded the Choral Fellowship, which allowed her to work directly under Dr. Daniel Perkins, the Director of Choral Activities. She continued to work with Dr. Perkins for the following two years as the Assistant Music Director Intern for the Manchester Choral Society. Following graduation, Amanda began working at The Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH, quickly assuming the role of Assistant Box Office Manager. After about a year, she chose to move to Nantucket, MA to pursue music education at Cyrus Peirce Middle School, where she taught chorus, drama, and music for two years. Understanding that public school education was not her fate, Amanda jumped at the opportunity to move to Boston to pursue a master’s degree in Arts Administration at Boston University. Amanda works at the BU School of Law Registrars Office as a Senior Program Coordinator.

This program is all about making connections, and I am so grateful for the opportunities I have been given so far! With the pandemic limiting options in classes and career moves, instructors and classmates have kept me positive.
