Ali Eaton (’19)
Ali Eaton completed her undergraduate studies at Florida State University, where she received a dual degree in bassoon performance and theatre with a concentration in stage management. She continued her studies at the New England Conservatory, where she received a Master of Music degree, and spent the past several years as an active freelancer in the Greater Boston area. She has performed with the New Bedford Symphony, the Glen Falls Symphony, Gloriae Dei Cantores, MetroWest Opera, Lowell House Opera, and the North End Music and Performing Arts Center, among others. In 2015, she joined the Boston Chamber Orchestra in their tour of Fukuoka, Japan, playing in halls across the southern island and performing in concert with members of the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra. As a founding member of the woodwind quintet Calliope Winds, she has performed throughout the Boston area in various artistic and educational capacities, as well as in master class with members of the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet.
After several years of freelancing, Ali discovered an interest in facilitating connections, and now manages the process of attracting and hiring new talent as the Internal Recruiting Coordinator at a local architecture and design firm. Ali is currently enrolled in the Arts Administration graduate program at Boston University. She is enthusiastic about creating and implementing avenues through which music and the arts can be discovered and shared.
It was such a pleasure to join Boston University’s Arts Administration program this fall. The program at BU attracted me for several reasons: the chance to study abroad, the ability to gain practical knowledge about arts administration specifically that I couldn’t learn from my time as a performing artist, and the exciting opportunity to connect and network with other individuals who share my passion for the arts.
