Successful Grant Proposal
Second year Arts Administration student Claire Fassnacht recently submitted a proposal that helped The Cambridge Youth Gamelan, a children’s music ensemble, receive a $1,150 grant from the Cambridge Arts Council. As co-faculty member and co-administrator, Claire’s successful proposal will support the faculty, guest artists and marketing initiatives for the program’s Winter and Spring 2017 sessions. This program allows Cambridge-area children the opportunity to explore traditional Balinese music and learn about the culture of Bali, Indonesia, complete with end-of-session performances open to family and the greater Cambridge community.
The Cambridge Youth Gamelan was founded in 2015 and meets once a week for 1.5 hours in the MIT World Music Room. In addition to Claire, the ensemble is managed and taught by Emeric Viani and Mark Stewart. For details, visit www.cambridgeyouthgamelan.com
Claire wishes to thank Grant Writing Professor Michael Ibrahim for the success of this proposal.
