She is founder and trustee of The Aarya Foundation, an English charitable trust, whose mission is to advocate for music education through singing from kindergarten on, for the sake of art, health and community.
In 2014, Claudia was the first Brazilian to be awarded the prestigious Clore Leadership Fellowship sponsored by the Clore Foundation and British Government’s Chevening Programme.
Previous roles include: General Coordinator of Promotion and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Culture in Brazil, where she was responsible for the National Secretariat’s international activities; Cultural Sector Coordinator for the Organization of Ibero-American States, a regional governmental organization promoting international cooperation among 20 countries; Managing Director of the Nora Theatre Company, Cambridge, MA; Summer Programs Coordinator, The Boston Conservatory; Herbertt Barrett Artist Management, New York, USA.
Boston University’s Arts Administration Program offers a wide range of learning opportunities for artists interested in running cultural organisations and how public policy may help these organisations to thrive.
The courses I took in managing performing arts and visual arts organizations, marketing, fundraising, legal issues, arts and the community, comparative cultural policy, negotiations and conflict resolution prepared me for the professional challenges I have encountered in the museum sector, music industry, arts education field and other creative segments of the cultural sector in many different countries.
I believe one can draw knowledge from these courses about career building and development in a wide range of creative industries. I strongly recommend Boston University’s Arts Administration Program.
