Aurora (Yueling) Zhou earned her B.S. in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from Southwest University of Finance and Economics(SWUFE) and Oklahoma State University. She has been practicing music, dancing, calligraphy and drawing for decades, and has a longstanding love and passion for arts.
At SWUFE, Aurora was named the Vice-minister of Propaganda Department of the Student Union where she organized art activities on and beyond campus. This position gave her opportunities to improve organization and leadership skills. After joining Oklahoma State University, she co-organized the Culture Night event, where she re-choreographed and promoted a traditional Chinese dance piece.
Aurora had been a volunteer at the Oklahoma Art Museum for 1.5 years, helping visitors understand the museum’s functions and activities. Her academic background in marketing and finance supported her to analyze arts management from a professional perspective letting her conduct market analysis, research consumer behaviors. As an intern at Johnson’s wedding photography company, she was able to develop marketing strategies to improve product competitiveness and strengthen branding images.
I am pursuing a graduate degree in Arts Administration to gain knowledge that has been beyond my reach and and deepen my understandings about the field
Since the program at Boston University accommodates professionals in the field, I believe their experience and acumen could help me to gain a more accurate and insightful understanding. And I look forward to improving my business communication skills. I am particularly impressed by BU’s emphasis on a global perspective. As the only program that highlights the international vision, BU aims to provide unparalleled opportunity to research into art business worldwide. I believe such training, under the trend of globalization, is truly important and beneficial for students’ professional development.
