Origins 2019
Boston University’s Dance Theatre Group is pleased to present Origins 2019, a fall dance concert with performances on Friday, November 22nd at 8:00 pm and Saturday, November 23rd at 4:00 and 8:00 pm.
This production showcases a wide variety of original works by student and faculty choreographers and will take place in Boston University’s Dance Theater.
ORIGINS 2019 will include a group dance choreographed by esteemed faculty member Margot Parsons. The student pieces, which have been mentored by dance faculty Micki Taylor-Pinney, Ann Brown Allen, and Liz Roncka, will consist of large group ensembles as well as smaller groups. Music selections will vary across genres and artists. Likewise, the dances themselves will reflect diversity, ranging from traditional to experimental, abstract to thematic, and light-hearted to contemplative.
The Boston University Dance Theater, located at 915 Commonwealth Avenue, is a 223-seat studio/theater space designed specifically for dance performances, classes, and special events.
Dance Theatre Group’s fall concert is presented in cooperation with the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (Timothy Moore, Executive Director, and Micki Taylor-Pinney, Director of Dance) and partially funded by the Boston University Undergraduate Student Fee. Admission will be $15 for the general public and $10 for all students and members of the Boston University community with ID.
Dance Theatre Group (DTG) was created in 1973 to give the Boston University community the opportunity to learn different styles of dance and the chance to perform in student, alumni, and faculty works. Dance Theatre Group is dedicated to building a community that values dance as a concert art form.
